Distinctive Unit Insignia

Description/Blazon
A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a gold wreath supporting two gold crossed field guns, all surmounted by a blue benzene ring around a white field bearing a black grenade issuing scarlet flames throughout the top of the device; inscribed on the sides and bottom of the benzene ring is "READY RELIABLE LETHAL" in gold letters.

Symbolism
The U.S. Army Joint Munitions Command (JMC) traces a direct lineage to the U.S. Army Armaments, Munitions and Chemical Command (AMCCOM). AMCCOM's authorized insignia has been modified for the JMC to include a motto on the benzene ring. Joint Munitions Command's affiliation with the Army Material Command (AMC) is highlighted by the colors red, white, and blue from the AMC shoulder sleeve insignia. Scarlet (crimson) and yellow are the Ordnance branch colors. The crossed field guns and flaming bomb symbolize the ordnance mission and the benzene ring represents the chemical mission. The laurel wreath symbolizes excellence and achievement.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was approved effective 1 October 2006.
